Drug shortages have become common in 2022. Child’s Tylenol, amoxicillin, Wegovy, and now Adderall (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine).

This is still one of the most common ADHD drugs in the world. It’s also used off-label as a cognitive booster, appetite suppressant, and euphoric drug. For example, this drug is commonly used in the college setting with estimates as high as 11% in some surveys. It is more common in more rigorous professions (medicine, engineering, banking, investment, etc.).

Before we cover how you can manage the shortages, let’s go over what Adderall is. This is the trade name for the medication called amphetamine/dextroamphetamine. Adderall is a mixture of these two which break down differently in the body.
