Most of the childhood vaccines make sense at a surface level. There is a scary disease out there, you have a vaccine to prevent it. Simple. When you dig deeper and peel back the propaganda a bit more, the arguments fall apart.
You don’t have to dig very deep to see how stupid the Hepatitis B vaccine is.
Hepatitis B
This is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). The virus gets into liver cells, replicates, and causes inflammation and damage to the liver. It’s not that different from other forms of hepatitis.
One thing that stands out with HBV is the disease chronicity. There is an acute and chronic form of the disease.
Acute HBV
This is a very mild self-limiting infection that causes nausea, vomiting, fever, dark urine, and jaundice. After a few weeks, the body clears the infection and there are no long-term side effects. Many people never even know they are infected.
In very rare cases, people develop “fulminant liver failure” which is deadly. This is extremely rare.
Chronic HBV
This one is a bit scarier. There are usually no profound symptoms to speak of. Over many years, the virus works its way through your liver and causes damage. This can lead to cirrhosis. Cirrhosis in turn significantly increases your risk of liver cancer.
We will get into some reported risks on this a bit later.
Hepatitis B Transmission
The mode of transmission for hepatitis is what makes it such a ridiculous vaccination. HBV is spread by contact with bodily fluids:
blood
semen
other infected fluid
I don’t know about you, but I don’t swap blood with my toddler. As far as I know, he doesn’t have any contact with prostitutes or used needles (the two most common sources of transmission). So, where would he contract HBV?
According to my pediatrician (who has since been fired), he could contract it from an infected grandparent who has a cut on their arm if they accidentally touch the cut on his arm.
This assumes the grandparent has chronic HBV, has sufficient viral load to transmit it, both cuts are actively bleeding or exposed, and is too stupid to cover their bleeding wounds and my son’s bleeding wound.
I wouldn’t allow that grandparent around my kids.
Hepatitis B Vaccine
This vaccine is given the day after (sometimes the day of) birth. If you have a child in America they will ask you if it’s ok to give your child the HBV vaccine shortly before delivery. When your child is taken away to the nursery for an exam, they’ll stick him/her.
What is the proposed reason for this vaccine being given this early?
It helps reduce the spread of HBV and pad the purse of Big Pharma.
The reality is that most children are at very small risk of contracting HBV. The mother is the only source of potential infection during the birthing process. HBV is tested for at least once in the months leading up to childbirth. How would they contract it?
I know the thought of chronic HBV is scary, but it’s a very small risk. Firstly, adults and older children who contract HBV are very unlikely to develop chronic HBV.
Children ages 1-6 have about a 30% chance of developing chronic HBV. Although I suspect that is heavily skewed towards the 1-3 year-olds in that group.
Children under 1-year-old reportedly have a 95% risk of developing chronic HBV. I simply don’t believe this statistic, but let’s assume it’s true for now. The mother is still tested for the disease. There should be no surprises.
The concern with these vaccines is usually around the risk of Autism. These shots are reported to have high levels of aluminum, a common adjuvant, which is linked to autism. The only place you’ll be able to read about this is on the Children’s Health Defense website. Just search “hepatitis B vaccine” in the top right and you’ll find dozens of articles and abstracts.
For those curious, the vaccine is reported to prevent transmission in 95% of children, and that drops to 90% by the age of 40.
Exceptions
Medicine and health are all about individualization. There are a few cases where I would consider getting this vaccine.
Mother has chronic HBV - this one is obvious. If the vaccine provides any benefit that is better than a 95% (reported) risk of chronic HBV in a newborn. They also have HBV immunoglobulins they can administer to prevent the child from developing HBV.
Child is immunocompromised - this is a bad combination. Don’t risk it.
Wrapping Up
It’s hard to remain unbiased when it comes to the Hepatitis B vaccine. It’s given too early, it is a stupid indication, and there is way too much propaganda surrounding it.
At the end of the day, it’s entirely up to you whether you give this to your child. We decided not to, and this was ultimately what led to us firing our first pediatrician.
Before you go…
Hepatitis B destroys your liver and causes cirrhosis. So does alcohol. Maybe you’ve thought about quitting or cutting down? Help yourself out and try something that takes the edge off but isn’t poison.
B4 is a social lubricant, nootropic, and anxiolytic. It’s the liquid courage without the poison. It’s good stuff. And they just released version 2 which is new and improved. It even looks nicer, and it’s way easier to open.

If you learned something from this article I hope you’ll share it.
If the mother has chronic hbv, how /when would she give it to child? How specifically would the jab protect the child? Is there any data on transmission from mother to child and difference between vax or no vax?
